Has anyone bred from a mare who has previously had a prolapse? And what was the outcome? Did they go on to foal fine in the future?

Yes it is possible for them to get in foal again and carry to full term. Give them a year off to fully recover and take Vet advice.

I lost a mare due to a prolapse and personally I would never try to breed from one that had suffered this.

I have a mare whos due soon who had a prolapse last year, i used to own her a couple of years ago and she proplapsed with new owners last year anyway ive had her back a few months now, i have had her on raspberry leaves in her feed (as advised to help uterus muscles and clensing) and have kept her well excersised and turned out on a hill to keep her toned. Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience of others, fingers crossed it goes well, shes a lovely mare

My first mare prolapsed with her foal. I was advised to never breed from her again. She was sadly PTS at 6 due to a field accident...as she couldnt breed again???
