What age should you keep a horse/pony in work for?
Like when to retire him/her?

Age is just a number! I'm a big believer in keeping them going as long as possible, as long as they are fit and well and enjoying their work. You can always adjust the type or amount of work they are asked to do if you feel they are struggling, but if a pony has always had an active life they go down quicker if you completely retire them. Only my opinion but I think they need to keep interested.
