How rude of some of the people placing the original threads not to respond to those who have taken the trouble to make positive comments/offer suggestions to help them!! Have been looking at several threads today, where sadly this is the case

it is nice to find out what has resulted with problems, however I guess it is a sign of the times, such a shame that manors have slipped

I have even sent private messages to people offering advice and help and havent even had an acknowledgement! As you say gillwales 'sign of the times'!

I think the one thing is if someone has a problem and found that something has worked then that can help someone else. I hope that my knowledge and experience can be of benefit to others, however nobody knows everything and this is one way of increasing everyones knowledge.
I must say if I have pm'ed a person I usually get a response, but it is sad that everyone does not bother

I have to say that this is the first time I have logged on in months - usually I only get to sneak a quick peak at the forums in my lunch break, rather than get a chance to log on and post replies. As a result, some lovely people have been replying to my posts and messaging me with advice, and I'm only now getting around to replying. However, even if I don't reply, I'm always hugely grateful for any responses. I would imagine that many people are in my position, that time zooms by and before you know it it was 2 months ago that you made a post! It is certainly not an excuse for bad manners, but they may not intend to be rude.

As they say manners cost nothing , and if you have time to post a thread , then IMO you have time to reply , if you dont have time , then sorry dont post ( not you river 23 )it is common courtesy to answer a response whether you like the reply or not ,,, sorry a bit curt , but feel as OP ,it is manners to reply

Agree it doesn't take much to reply at all, if you can go to the effort of asking a question, you can go to the effort of acknowledging it

Most annoying especially when someone is selling something, tack, clothing etc..
You post a question or comment and nothing back... Aaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh... Drives me mad...
Whoa , rant over... :-)

Sometimes your so chuffed people have answered you dont want to push your luck by posting back lol Just say thank you, makes those that have replied feel chuffed! On a slightly different theme, what really gets me annoyed is when you reply in good faith, based on your experience and it is not what the person wants to hear.. then some can get very rude and nasty!

Agreed! There are none so deaf as those who will not hear.

Well I am now making a more concerted effort to reply to posts, and if I find that I can't keep up the time to do that then will simply be a lurker - there's already so much helpful info on here without me needing to write a thing!
