I am thinking of doing the search for star last qualifier at vale view. I was wondering what standard the horses are at this level. I don't want to show myself up.

Hi the standard is mixed, but i believe good shows and way of going was rewarded. RE SHP they do like 'true to type' animals, and do not seem to place the plaited Connies / Natives etc as highly. Hope this helps, pm me if you require any other info

ALSO do read the rules and apply them very carefully as they will NOT tolerate even minor breaches

standard seems to be getting higher and higher each year! i know of horses who have previously competed in s4as at hoys, have now qualified in their respective open classes- this is just an indication of the quality of some of the horses!

I enjoyed watching the search for a star workers at HOYS last year. All very honest horse/rider pairings and the judging was very encouraging.
I would encourage anyone to have a go and be inspired to improve their equitation.
