Is he 2 now or 3?. Either way he can do youngstock classes so you've got that option as well as coloured classes. I would leave him as he is and show him in a white halter as in the last pic. He's well marked and well put together together and looks a really nice sort of pony.
Go and enjoy him and see what happens. Judges do say things like needs muscle and top line which is obvious in babies so don't be put off by those types of comment. Good luck x

Hi. Thanks for your comment. He's actually 4 now and has started doing a little bit of ridden work and lunging etc so he is getting a bit of muscle definition. Would you show him as he is or trim and plait?

I'd say leave him as he is and show him native lovely pony!

Personally I'd plait him, I don't think he has any feather etc so wouldnt show him as a native , I think he would look much more sharp trimmed and plaited up, he has lovely markings and I bet he looks fab under saddle :-)
He is still young and has a way to go to mature, whatever you do, good luck & enjoy it!!!
