Just a quick post to apologise for the lateness of the printed schedules (which still have to arrive from the printers!) but they should be posted out this weekend fingers crossed!
There has also been an omission apparently:
The schedule should have stated that the qualification cards allow the competitor to choose which classes they want to enter eg if they have qualified for the Novice Ridden M&M & also wanted to enter the open &/or the junior ridden class as well, then this would be fine.
The Trustees appreciate that it is very expensive to fuel up these days, and felt that if the competitor has more than one class they would like to do, that this might make the expense more justified.
The schedule is available on the website & the show secretary informs me that she has already received her first entry, which is great news.
Do look through all the classes - almost every animal can do the competition/sports classes & we have several covering ridden & In Hand as well as for M&Ms. Likewise lots of animals are PBW or PBA & we have classes for all these including LR & FR for the PBWs.
Any queries please telephone the office: 01704 834482 or email gensec@thencpa.co.uk or the Show Secretary on 01204 300160 or email price86@btinternet.com
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
PS 2014 is our 50th Golden Anniversary & we are looking for suggestions to make this show extra special, so do let us have your ideas.

Oriana - go on NCPA website www.thencpa.co.ukClick on Pony of the Year & it will give you a list of qualifying shows with links to their websites so that you can check for those classes in their schedules. (Final 2013 qualifiers are 20th August) This Sunday (28th) they have these classes at NCPA Notts/Lincs - schedule on the home page of the website - if this is any help.

All members have been posted a copy of the schedule yesterday (Saturday) with the exception of memberships/renewals which have arrived since Friday. These will be posted out tomorrow (Monday)
Don't forget that you can enter other classes with your qualification cards if you would like.

Just to let everyone know - if you have a POYS 2012 Trophy to return, then you can bring it to BSPS Championship Show if that is easier.
Sandra Moncaster will be there to collect any trophies.

Can I just say that there is a mis-print of the postcode in the schedule, it should be 'ST19 5PH' not 'ST19 6PH.'

Janet I believe you have to be a member to enter, is that just the rider that has to be a member or horse and owner as well?

I have just seen on another thread it's rider only, well now my problem is I own the pony but my friends daughter rides him in first ridden (so she's only 10) does this have to be a family membership or how do I do it? Thanks x

Was the ncpa Derbyshire festival at somerford in June a qualifier for POYS? All relevant classes at Derbyshire Festival were qualifiers for POYS and you would have been given a Qualification card on the day, if you have a query please check the results on our website www.ncpa-derbys.co.uk, thanks. Also to enter POYS the person making the entry must be a NCPA member but thats the only stipulation. Please be aware the closing date is August 21st so time is running out!!

Do you think there would be any chance of splitting the ridden hunters?I understand the reason for putting one class but there is smalls and open what about smalls and l/w and m/w and h/w together as I have a l/w and h/w and a little dissapointed to have to pick who to take as they both qualified in weight classes to find they have been dropped due to support any suggestions ncpa?

There is a contact number on the website for stabling. The college have told us the cannot accommodate stabling on site.
It is hard to keep all sections for everything and the support for the individual weights of hunters has got lower and lower. This is hard as the county level shows have low numbers so we are aiming at an ever decreasing market and in the whole the 'hors e people' don't generally support NCPA. Really to consider splitting we wold need a minimum of 5 in each split to justify it for his year.

lfd - as I have no idea who you are, I don't even know if I have received your application.
Why not email the office gensec@thencpa.co.uk & then I can check for you.

I shall now be away at BSPS all week. For anyone who has not yet joined/renewed their membership please can you download the membership form from www.thencpa.co.uk & send it in together with your entries to the office address 11 Mawdsley Close, Formby, Liverpool L37 8DJ We will continue to take memberships & entries until after the bank holiday, so please do not panic if you leave a message or send an email which goes unanswered. If you have any queries it is better to send your stuff in & I can deal with any problems on my return. Remember that you can choose ANY classes as long as you have at least one qualification card. Good luck to all those competing at BSPS & I will be stewarding a flat ring on the grass this year, if I can answer any queries for you at the show. Please remember that anyone wanting to return trophies can also bring them to BSPS & give them to Sandra Moncaster.

Just normal smart showing outfits, plus hat, are fine for all the in-hand classes including the Presidents Cup, and correct riding wear for all the Ridden classes, thanks for your enquiry.

Well - just back from BSPS & will begin to open all the post, as I have now replied to all the emails.
I am still accepting all entries/memberships.
Those who sent by recorded/signed for, I will not be able to get until Tuesday, but don't worry - they will still accepted.
After noting all the answerphone messages I have decided to wait until I have dealt with the post, as I think some of the answers for these might be different after I have done the post, so please be patient.
Laura - it will be up to the show secretary over whether or not she posts class sizes, but they will certainly not be available before next week at the earliest. There are reasonably comprehensive "not before" times on the timetable, so this should help you plan your day. We do try hard to accommodate any "clashes" provided the ring stewards are notified well in time & our commentator is excellent at keeping everyone informed of ring progress throughout the day.
Now - back to the pile of post!

ewj - Fine about sending entry today, but if there is anything else you want to enter it MUST be done before the show as I am sorry but we are unable to take any entries on the day.

Quick update:
Some one from Penkridge Riding Club has rung today & she was under the impression that she could enter POYS on the day. PLEASE NOTE: There are NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY.
If there are any other members of this RC who qualified at their earlier NCPA affiliated show & believed they could enter on the day then we will still take your entries if you get them in ASAP. They will be too late for the catalogue but we will print a supplementary sheet.
Also - all the recently joined memberships/renewals have now been processed & should all be posted out today. The membership pack WILL NOT contain your POYS back number, as these are allocated by the show secretary.
If you did not include a large enough SAE with your entry, you will need to collect the number from the secretary on the day.
