We have one naughty little Boxer puppy (but love him to bits!!) in the past week he has chewed everything you can think of, his own bed, shoes, bra's toilet rolls, sponges, and today has been a nightmare, we have learned to keep everything out of his reach, especially after the other night when i was woken with him choking, he tried to swallow a sock!!! I just about managed to get it from his throat!!, today he went into the garage, chewed duck tape, my brothers fluorescent marshaling coat, and some motorbike seat cover, all ripped to shreds and probably ate, I was just thinking if anybody had ideas on how I handle this, I know I have to be firm with him, but I could never ever lift a hand to him. Any ideas would be welcomed. p.s he has ripped his bed to shreds as well!!! Thanks in advance

Use a dog cage to keep your stuff safe when you are not around. It's the only way. If he shreds his bed that's up to him.

Typical puppy :-) Make sure he has loads of toys of his own. I found the stag sticks are brill for them to chew. If he gets something he shouldn't have take it off him, a firm no and point of finger and give him one of his own toys. Lots of excersise and as suggested above a crate for when you are not there. The chilli spray does work but just redirects them to something else (I learnt this the hard way by having a hole in my carpet) Intelligent, energetic breeds need mental stimulation also so maybe some puppy classes and when he's old enough have a go at agility. Mine loves it!! Toys such as a big kong filled with peanut butter and put in the freezer are good treats to keep them busy but would suggest buying the biggest one possible and only giving it him whilst your there if he has a habit of trying to swallow stuff. Good luck he will grow out of it :-)
