Well I did my first evening performance last week at Malvern, dress code was navy jackets and stocks, assuming ridden class, and female!! Get down to arena early, if anything like Malvern there will be loud music and lights, give your pony plenty of time to get used to the music and atmosphere!! Good luck, and have fun

It all depends on which class you are in but you will need to wear a navy jacket with a stock, navy hat , jodhpurs and boots etc. Make sure your pony is extra clean and shiny as you will get some great pictures in the lights! As already mentioned, if you have never been in an evening performance before get up to the ring early and stand around near the doors to get use to the noise, also watch a few classes before to see what they are doing! You will probably have to enter at trot, then canter, change the rein and do the same, then line up and your results will be called out... Oh and if you win- after the normal lap of honour you will be able to do an extra lap and then GALLOP out down the centre line!!!! Good luck and have fun!

Oh thank you! You've made me feel a lot better, have been so stressed about it! What do you think about ear plugs for my horse? He's been out of the showing circuit for years! But I suspect he's done similar before. He's a cob, and yeah I'm female! Got all my clothes organised. I think it says the top 10 go through to the evening performance so when do they do the judging for placings? On the evening or is it from during the day? Thanks again! Sorry for so many questions!!

It depends what your horse is like with loud music... we usually plug ours, just to be sure! If you are through to the top 10, the judges will probably know the results of the class already! & your normal hat will be fine! Good luck!!
