We enjoyed our mad rush down to watch our daughter ride in an evening performance...party atmosphere, it was amazing and I got very choked when they won!!!
But we then popped off to a Premier Inn so cant comment on the camping side of things!!

Where we was camped was lovely loads of room and no problemnwith neightbours everyone willing to help out and asking how my horse was after having the vet out to him
My only gripe was that I emailed betsy prior to booking stables to see if there would be a pa system in red b and they said they would be and there wasnt also there was lack of toilets which never had loo roll and just normal bins without lids used for sanitary items, and there only seemed to be one bin

I personally thought it was very well ran this year! We arrived late Thursday night and asked to be as close as possible to our rings and able to park out trailer close to the stable (as everyone would I'm sure) but mainly because my groom was unable to walk long distances. Stable manager was great and got us about a 5min walk from ring and trailer parked at the top of our stable block. Couldn't have asked for more, great atmosphere!

I don't particularly think this is people whinging, mearly people voicing their opinions on their time at Equifest, having been myself for 3 years on the run, things have changed, some for the good, some not for the good...
Lots of people spend the whole year saving and preparing for this show, so when they get there and things go wrong or are not right for them, surely they are allowed to comment on that, as for your comment "if you don't like it, don't come" would you say that to lady who had her bridle stolen for instance, and her daughter wasn't able to do her class??
I'm sad that some people didn't have a good experience, and that probably leaves them with negative thoughts, but im sure lots of people had an amazing time, logistically running a show of this size must be a nightmare, so I feel for Betsy and the team, but equally I was in red B stables and was absolutley furious, no tannoy ,no idea what was going on??? Lots of shouts about people riding through the trade stands, or children on bikes, what about letting people know rings are running 2 hours behind, or classes are changing rings??
So forgive me, but I like you paid my money, and I was terribly dissatisfied ... Ill be there next year, in the hope that things improve, the show has grown year on year, so I expect things to change..
I'm defiantly not whinging, just telling it like it is..

I completely respect what you are saying but I saw a lot of people saying how they saw piles of muck at the end of the stables an how they should been cleaned up; there has always been muck there and people saying how the 'standard' of ponies has dropped. It's not about the standard of ponies. And I do think some people were moaning just for the sake of it.
You are perfectly entitled to have your opinion as are others but I am also entitiled to say don't like it don't come.

I have to say that red B wasn't the only stables with no tannoy, there wasn't a tannoy in the blue stables either, however, the blue stables were much better situated this year, even though there were a lot more of them. With regards to muck but excuse me where are you supposed to put your muck, it has always been at the end of the stables, or it has been for the last few years. Also with regards to standard dropping I must have been watching and competing in different classes (coloured and SHP 153). The quality of the ponies and the standard seems to be improving every year. I know I am not that good and I knew before I went I wasn't going to get anything, my main aim was to survive and not hit the deck and survive I did in very large classes. I was very pleased with my horse as he didn't put a foot wrong, we didn't get any rosettes due to the size of the classes, but so what I enjoyed it and I can now work on trying to improve my performance, I can also try to find some different less popular classes next year if I decide to take him again. Okay so the show is not perfect for everybody, there will always be complaints, there will always be people that will spoil other peoples enjoyment in a variety of ways, all I know is that the show is getting bigger each year and more people are wanting to come, some classes will have to change to accommodate the people now coming. I do think people will have to start booking earlier to ensure a duration stable or to get in certain popular classes and a lot more people will again be disappointed that they can't go due to rising demand. I met some very nice people, it is a great show and long may it continue.

To be honest my team and I have a fantastic time and that's all I care about and I hope that next year is 100 times better for you If all you care about is whether you & your 'team' have a great time then why start this discussion? I'm sure 'Equifest' would love the fact that you are telling people to stay away.

Look, I was not intending to ruffle anyone's feathers so let's just leave it at with my opinion is mine and yours is yours; I'm sure we can do that.

Seems a shame that not everyone reads the rules for some classes though.. There was a debate on here a year or two ago about a sixteen year old doing the adult and child class as the adult when the adult should be 18+... Same happened this year it seems... Not trying to be horrible but it does take away from people who couldn't get an entry for the class :/

We went to Equifest yet again this year, and have competed at top level for many years now. The standard of the M & M lead Reins and the First Riddens i thought was simply outstanding!!! HUGE classes and immense competition!!! A superb show for people who love good competition in classes, well judged on the whole and a fab show to be at. Re muck at end of stables? Have they not been to an overnight show??? That IS the muck storage, sorry guys, a fact of showing...... Well done Equifest for a superb show!!!
