We sell an electronic download of the images we take on the website for £8 an image. Those we state are fine to use for private use ie Sharon use on fb and tbh we are fine with use for sale adverts too. If it's for a professional site (ie breaders sites rather than a sale of a single horse as say they have outgrown it) then the cost is different and we wod ask for a credit to be given to is. We are happy to provide images for use in magazines etc and will charge something for those but we try not to rip anyone off and help all parties out (ESP when capturing events for charity).
We aim to allow for 3-5 images (hopefully good ones we do try to delete kn camera) and one head shot of each horse or pony in a ring plus photos of the presentations / rosettes /cups or sashes. It can be hard and sometimes you end up with more or less than that but that is our aim. Does that sound reasonable to people? Or would you need more or less?

I recall at the NPS champs when the photographer abandoned the class he was meant to be taking photos of to take pictures of a poor man who collapsed while showing and was obviously having a heart attack, why? did he think he would make money out of pictures of a man dying? Read more: horsegossip.proboards.com/thread/170659/professonal-photographers-county-shows#ixzz2gkXudHhjCan I just say that this is done for insurance purposes. If anyone has a fall for whatever reason pics are taken just incase they need to be used in an inquest and can be invaluable when showing how the fall was had. It's horrible being the other side of the lens when this happens but we always have to consider that we may be helping in the case of rotational falls etc. No money to be made on those pics but may just save someone's life.

this was not a fall from a horse, it was a man showing inhand, and this happened over 15 years ago. You may be correct , however the way the photos were taken I do not believe that they were taken for insurance purposes in this case.

Take my own of friends and family can do a much better job than those selling snaps, they don't know what settings to use or how to edit photos. They bascially take snaps and idiots pay for any old rubbish.
