Hope this is the right place but none o the other headings fitted at all. I am looking to add a lovely highland to my family. I have seen to well breed wee men geldings aged 2, 1 stands at 14.1h now and the other just under. The second pony is still a wee bit bum high. Now breed standards state 13h-14.2 .... R they going to be over this? How does one predict their final size. After all they r almost big boys now! And still young . All help gratefully received. Many thanks in advance

hard to say, i bought a 2yr old filly who would have been 14hh, she is now 6 and standing at 14.2, he full sister was much smaller as a 2yr old but has finished up at 14.2hh what is their breeding - you may be able to trace their family and see what heights they were/are

Find out the parentage and that might help. Our Highland Youngster was massive as a Yearling and we were told by a Riding Instructor that she would go way over height making at least 15.1hh, panicked us a bit as we wanted her for showing. Neave is now 4 and is just under 14.1hh, Highlands tend to do a lot of growing in their younger years and then fill out.
