hi my daughter is going to do her first ridden class starting with best rider 12 years and over,we have a piebald only black tack at the moment just bought a jacket which is black as she does pony club with him would that be ok or is it navy that would be better.does she being 13 have to wear jodhpur clips too.
also when it comes to next year i hope she will want to do a ridden coloured cob what colour tweed do you think she should where with a piebald and does it have to be brown tack.

In showing classes the rider is meant to wear tweed (or navy jacket for show pony type), yellowy coloured jods, brown short boots with joddy clips (as she's a junior) and brown gloves, normlly navy hat. Also tack is meant to be brown/dark brown. However if it's just a local show they normally don't mind about colour of tack or a couple things different such as jacket colour. Hope this helps

I used to judge local level, I was often asked would we do better with new this or that? My answer was always if you look clean and smart, as though you have made an effort, and ride really well you will always do well.

Agree with above posts. Particularly at local level as long as smart and well turned out never known a judge to mark down. County level i always find you really need to be wearing the correct attire as mentioned in the first post. Found it useful to go have a look at a few shows coming up at the level you intend to compete, it gives you a good idea of the attire and your possible competition! Good luck and have fun.
