Just heard that there has been a break-in at Stillington and Huby, tack and rugs stolen, poor girl has been completely cleaned out. Also a report of a theft at Slingsby, far too close for comfort for me. Please be vigilant and ensure you lock up as well as possible now the nights are drawing in.

Wow we are all a few miles from one another! I'm 10 mins from slingsby too. I've put it on my Facebook and shared with northern all welsh, nps area 4 and malton riding club. Maybe if anyone has any other contacts they could spread the word too please??

Hi Somebody took my electric fence energiser and battery from my field near Old Malton between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon. It could not be seen from the road so who ever took them must have gone looking for them. Lock everything up and try and make it difficult for the thieving....

Unfortunately locks are to keep honest people out,the light fingered brigade believe in 'what's yours is mine and what's mine is my own'. My local farmer is having terrible bother with people of that ilk + poachers leaving gates open so that his cattle roam everywhere. Until the law (which seems to look after the lawless) hits those sort of people where it hurts-and hard-nothing will change

fembleton - hello!! joined HG now have you:) Farmer in our village had his fencing taken as well a couple of weeks ago. Had to be someone who knew the area as his wasn't visible from the road either. We had a 4WD come down our drive the other night at dusk but they saw me and reversed away, it had been sat at the end of the our drive for a few minutes, didn't get close enough for a reg number. Getting to that time of year where they are coming out round us.

Hi Karen, have been a member for a long time but have been sat quietly in the wings watching and listening! It p**ed me off that much about having my stuff pinched that I thought i should warn you all to be aware. I am not going to bother replacing it as I am sure that is what they will expect and come back for another go.
