Have a nice set of 2nd hand harness to start her off with which includes the bridle and a Liverpool bit. The bit does fit her but looks enormous and tbh far too much in her little mouth. she is currently a LR pony and is not strong or bargy. Can I start her off in the exercise cart with her normal bit on the driving bridle or is there a very good reason why this is not sensible. She will have a leader with her until we know she is happy so be attached to a lead rope. If not her normal snaffle bit can you suggest a smaller driving bit that is more suited to a tiny little mouth.

We always start ours in snaffles then they progress to a driving bit. We have one that's in a snaffle all the time when driven. Keep them in what they are happy in.

Thank you, I will do. The driving bit fitted her well but sledgehammer to crack a nut came to mind, it was absolutely huge in relation to pony!

Yes we've bought one for one of our dartmoors as mum wants to drive him in a pair, it looks ridiculous. Have you tried a half cheek Liverpool If you do want to use one. But I have has no problems driving in a snaffle keeps them happy

Butterfly Pelhams and one slot liverpools can look tidier when/if you're ready to move on from a snaffle.
