My small sec D cob mare (14.1hh but medium chunky) is getting outgrown by 3rd child and I need a reason to keep her. Is she too old to go in harness?
I fancy using her to maintain some woodland but I am a complete beginner in this area.
Any advice or contacts in Swansea area much appreciated.

We've introduced a 13 year old to harness. He loves it. As long as she's for and healthy I don't see a problem. How old is she?

I don't think that's too old. As long as she's fit

She is fully active so I would consider her physically strong enough. She doesn't like metal clanging (if the farrier drops his tools) and I have heard that chains are used in favour of nylon bands but I can work on this and use ear plugs if necessary.
