Hi I'm looking at loaning out 2 of my broodmares (1 welsh C the other a tb) and it has been suggested that I try an embryo transplant centre can anyone recommend any and do if you can could I have contact details please x

I took a friends horse to a very well known place. I did not like it at all. What this centre did was take your mare on loan and they lease her to a client as a recipient mare but they would not tell the owner who or where the mare was during the lease period.

They usually require the recipient mares to be 16hh and over. As it is normally competition horses they are breeding from. Never heard of it for ponies before.
To be perfectly honest though i would agree with the above. Mares are just treated as ovens and owners arent allowed to know where they go.
I am not one for encouraging breeding unnecessarily but you could advertise for loan as broodmares then you would have more say. If they are quality enough of course.
