Hi there,
I wondered if any one could help me I plan to start showing next year but I am a complete showing novice! So I just wondered if any could give me some advise on the dos and donts of showing! I have a 4yr old coloured mare and I plan to compete her in the coloured horse class, small riding horse and show hack.
Firstly i would like to know what to wear and what not to wear, what colours to wear and just general clothing.
What tack would I need, I have a dressage saddle but if I had the straps shortened would I be able to use this or would I need a . Suede saddle also do I need a plain brow band or coloured one.
If anyone has any other advise that I have missed please let me know any help I would be greatful for!
many thanks

the hack class and riding horse class are two completely different classes, so you would need a navy jacket and a tweed if you would upload a picture then be more helpful, think she would only fit into one the classes, is she part bred arab? I take it she is a plaited coloured?
Your showing clothes for hack Navy jacket Shirt tie Collar pin would make it look neater Beige Breeches Long black riding boots hair in a very small bun no scrunchie Navy hat, with a cream leather strap Brown or Cream gloves.
Riding horse you would have a tweed jacket, nice tie to match the jacket colours. again from above with the other atire.
Take i would say brown leather or suede both look very nice, Choose a browband to suit your mare on a coloured they is specific colours that really stand out and as she is only 4 and doing novice classes use a snaffle.

If you post a pic up then it will be easier to help with a browband etc.
You will need a tweed jacket for the coloured classes, and one that compliments your horse/pony. The rest of your attire will be the same as above!
And most importantly enjoy yourself :-)
