If its just hoys your chasing you can go with the showing register which is cheapest, but you can also use puk, bsps etc if they are preferred by yourself but more expensive! The rider, owner and pony all need to be registered x

Yes the show register is by far the cheapest option but if you want to do other qualifiers then study which society is best for you. You also need to get a HOYS number for pony & jockey from grandstand media. There is no cost to this and you only have to get it once.

Yes if you are showing a welsh then definitely the showing register is the cheapest cost me and my horse £25 last year.

For M&M classes, the ponies do not have to be registered with a showing society. They must be registered in their relevant native pony studbook. It is the owner and rider that must be a member of either NPS, BSPS, PUK, TSR or the relevant breed society.
For plaited classes the pony must be registred with either NPS, PUK, BSPS or TSR and the most important thing is that a copy of the JMB certificate must be regsitered with that society. Some societies charge you for the pony to be registered with them, some do now, so worth checking that out too.

I am wondering why all classes don't have the option of being registered with TSR. Please advise. Surely much more sense to have one society for all Hoys qualifiers. Or maybe they do and I have missed it. Thanks.

It is only te pony qualifiers that have been opened up to all the pony socities a few years ago. The horse classes are still run under the umbrella of the orginal horse socities, eg hacks under BSHA, hunters under SHB

TSR covers membership for pony workers for HOYS qualifiers. Horse workers currently are SHB only

Thanks but I can't see why horses should be different to ponies.
