My daughter started her Equine level 3 in sept .... find does find it difficult to fit in riding her own ponies as doesn't finish till 5 (teatime feeds/skips etc before leaving the yard) an hour/hour half travelling home, then mucks & feeds her own, then straight up to her bedroom all evening doing assignment after assignment, has weekend yard duties to fit around showing .....moans constantly about about the biology questions and how hard they are ......Iv forgotten what she looks like!
I think she'd thought it would be easier but is equiv to 3/4 A levels and I'm sure that one's she got through the first year and gets into the swing of it she hopefully find a little easier...hear hoping!

Our son did a course at Askham during his last 2 years of school in Agriculture but decided on Bishop Burton for his Apprenticeship course so I've had a sneeky peek at both
(Thumbs up for Bishop Burton!!!! The cross country course looks amazing!!!)
While he was busy doing his interview at Bishop I had an hour to kill so went snooping at the equestrian facilities and they were amazing. My friends daughter is doing her equestrian course there and is loving it, they have to do morning yard duties some weekends, they help out at the many events held there and the indoor school is top spec
You'l probably prefer Bishop to look at (its very idyllic) but Askham is on the up and challenging them for results and choice of courses
Both are good so its a tough choice ....good luck with whichever you choose, my one piece of advice would be to try and narrow down which course you want to do before you go as both seem to excel in slightly different fields

Thanks for your replies! If I went to bishop I'd like to do the level three extended diploma in horse management (grooms) which would likely allow me to then go on and eventually do a BSc(Hons) in equine therapy and rehabilitation! I thought bishop was further than it is but it's only an hour, don't know if its provides accommodation? But I'd live away, thanks for the tip maxandpaddy will tell my mum about the wait lol!! Askham is a little closer to me plus I know multiple people there already, and some are hopefully entering this year as well as friends coming u the year after, the courses seem good but if your son did that I could possibly do one at Askham and my BSc at bishop?? My friend got in to both and choose Askham, but it's each individuals preference!! Really excited after reading the course prospectus properly, can't wait!!
Mylittlepony, that was my concern, however my ponies are on full livery and although I know their are assignments to complete I would have weekends at home (or I know I would if I went to Askham) but the showing is a problem As I hav a C that I need to keep on top of!! My interviews at 9, setting off in half an hour so ill let you know:D xxx
