Or Matti as he was known to his friends, was put to sleep last week.. He competed in 15hands WHP classes at the top,starting at novice level and then going on to winning at the Royal, South of England, Kent County and Champion WHP at the RI in 2000
Laura won the Carol Doyle star of the future on him at PUK and Davina was on the winning English team one year at BSPS among so may other wonderful wins and precious moments. He competed in our Pony Club Open Teams in both Dressage and Show Jumping and went to the PC Champs. on several occasions and also found time for the odd days hunting.
He was so versatile we really needed two of him! In later years before retiring, he was my hack. He was his own person, one in a million and sorely missed. He had been a driving horse, competing in F.E.I. trials, with Cherry Gaynor, whom we purchased him from, before turning his hand to ridden competitions. Thank you Matti for the wonderful time you gave us, but most of all for just being you. R.I.P.
