Hi everyone dont no if ne1 has used this but ive recently put my horse on dengie healtthy hoof n it has blown em abit. Im rulin out its haylage but wen i hav read thr ingresients it has molasses in. Any comments wud b useful thank u xx

It's got Alfa in it, so it's higher in digestible energy. It's also lightly coated in molasses for taste (as are all dengie products unless stated otherwise). They do a product called healthy hooves molasses free, this is coated in rapeseed oil and made from chopped straws. This should be much less heating and if your feeding it for reasons like laminitis then it's by far the better choice. Xx

Thank u i didny no that i juat wany sumthin complete and low calorie as hes a welsh cob so abit hot neway and dont need to much weight. Ive had to take him off haylage aswell xx

They also do a molasses free alpha A which is good and suitable for ponies prone to lami or good doers. Enough energy for work but doesn't blow mine. You have to be careful with some feeds as though they say they are suitable for good doers/lami ponies they can contain sugars. It is a bit of a minefield. Once you find one that works stick to it.

Why don't you try the dengie healthy tummy I'm finding it really good as It's a complete feed and non heating. I'm using it for both of mine ones a quirky section c and my other is a coloured cross (good doer)

I'm too mean to pay bag feed prices for basically chopped straw, and most of mine (Welsh A and D) would work fine off hay/haylage with a suitable balancer for essential micronutrients.

Hi everyone. Ive also found out last week he had an infection in his sheath although I have completely stripped bac his feed n got sum of the healthy tummy. Took him to aintree yesterday and he was pretty chilled. So hopefully hes feelin beta n gettin things right now xx
