I'm very surprised no one could share their top tips, or what they found easy or hard when becoming new parents. :-(

Its because us horsey people think looking after a people baby is a doddle after looking after equines for years. Never had any problems with mine, he slept and ate well, thrived, grew up and got married had kids, then the trouble starts, but a midiwife couldn't help only a counsellor. ha ha.

Firstly no matter how tired you are in a morning after being kept up all night, get up, wake that baby up at 8 or 9am, open the curtains and give her breakfast, even if they only fell asleep a couple of hours before and your thinking thank god they have gone to sleep, routine is the most important thing and if you get a baby up at 8am they will be ready for a sleep late morning and then awake for the afternoon and then tired for bed time! I wish I had of known this with my first earlier on than when I worked it out. Secondly calpol & baby nurofen given together is fantastic for teething babies! Sends them straight to sleep. Thirdly at the first sign or a cold lather the viks on back and chest for babies under 12 months buy baby viks. For a cough rub in to the soles of the feet and put on socks for bed and there will be no more coughing and yes it really works and neither of my girls have ever needed cough medicine, putting small blocks under the head of the bed to lift it also helps too. Thirdly for chicken pox especially on the private parts Forever Living Aloe Veterinary Spray works FANTASTIC, it was really soothing and healed my little girls chicken pox in a couple of days and was the only thing that helped her! I will try think of more

Not a parent myself... But mum bottle fed me and my sister however my auntie breast freed my 2 cousins... At least with bottle feeding you can have a break and someone else can feed them!! Tbh not sure which I'd do... Both have pros and cons!

my top tip is to use a playpen with a floor
very un-fashionable these days I know, however it keeps baby safe, esp if you have dogs, you can make sure everything is clean plus you can take it outside when warm enough while mucking out! If you do not have the floor then baby once mobile will move it about !
The other thing when weaning is to place the high chair next to you at the diner table and feed child from own plate, this way you get a less fussy child food wise, plus you get the beginning of teaching to sit at the table with everyone else.

hi.... i alway felt under pressure from those who followed Gina Ford and the likes....but have to say the one thing i diid stick to was bath,boob/bottle , bed.......and dont be scared of asking for help....i had 3 children under 4 years and the best thing i did was get some help so that twice a week just for an hour i could go out on my own even if that was just for a coffee or to the gym but it helped.....do you need more?
