I've noticed a date for NCPA show in May at Warren Farm but there's nothing regarding same show on NCPA website, does anyone know if it is still going ahead?

They normally have an open show in May but when I asked about it I was told it was not going ahead this year

That's a shame if it's not going ahead as it's normally a really nice show to go to but I can understand. The rosettes and sashes were fab last year but some of the classes weren't supported well at all with quite a few not having any in at all (mainly the in hand) hope they do decide to do one but maybe scale down the schedule?

It is a shame, quite local too. I'm becoming a member this year and planned to support as many of their shows as possible.

If you look back at a thread I posted on here in november Janet explains why they are not holding the open show this year. I agree it is a shame as a lovely show but completely understand why

I have received quite a bit of feed back about not holding the Open Show this year - sorry you that some of you are disappointed & we will be revisiting the issue for 2015. 2014 is the 50th Golden Anniversary Year for NCPA & as we depend on a very small band of hard working volunteers we are concentrating our efforts on the popular Spring Spectacular (March 22 Southview, Wettenhall, Cheshire) & the GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY PONY of the YEAR SHOW (7th September, Rodbaston College) The Spring Spectacular will have golden sashes for all class winners, as well as a new MINI COB (Coblet) class, Evening Performance, Concours D'Elegance & all the usual WHP, Ridden & In Hand classes with sashes for all Champions & Reserves. THe schedule is already on www.thencpa.co.uk & the entries have started arriving (thanks!) The Pony of the Year Show has 2 new GOLDEN SUPREMES - entry is FREE & you qualify at any of the NCPA shows that are held before the entry closing date for POYS. There are prize funds of £500, £300, £100, £50, £25 & £25 for both the Ridden Golden Supreme & the In Hand Golden Supreme As 09rebel99 said - some of the entries were numerically poor at the 2013 show & it was decided to concentrate on the other 2 events for 2014 rather than dilute our finances & efforts in this special year. Hope to see lots of you at the above 2 shows - remember NCPA offers great value for money (members pre entries for the Spring Spectacular have been held at £5 for the fourth year running!) but like any show & organisation we really need to keep our numbers up to make events a success.

Hi Janet, thanks for your response. I totally understand the decision, I was just a little confused with Warren Farm website still advertising the event. Unfortunately I can't get to your Cheshire show in March but hope to attend other local events.

Now that I know this I will be speaking to Warren Farm today - I presume that the previous show secretary booked the 2014 date when we held the 2013 show & I don't think anyone realised as we have a small committee to run POYS now, rather than a show secretary's position as in the past
Sorry you can't make the Spring Spectacular livamino, but I hope you enjoy all the other opportunities that NCPA has to offer, especially POYS!
