Ok I can only imagine how stressful and difficult running a show is but....... I at the time of entering on the day tried to find out if i was ok to wear a flash noseband in a particular class..... simple huh??? well firstly the steward/organiser checks with judge and I am told yes.... fine i toddle off and get ready. Aforementioned steward then turns up at my trailer to tell me that no I cant as it is not normal to have a flash with a snaffle. So its fine I accept and proceed to go without. I then find in the class another person wearing one. Obviously I cant do anything at this point but the person ended up highly placed so at the end I go and ask. Now before anyone says anything derrogatory, I have nop issue with the other individual as i assume they too were unsure/oblivious of rules and just took a different approach to me and wore one. But when i asked about it i was told well thay couldnt find anything in the rule book so assumed it would be ok.....no answer/apology as to why i was told no and not found again after they decided that it was ok. No problem with where Im placed.......sometimes you win sometimes you dont. What annoys me is the attitude after raising the question you would think they would at least monitor that issue in the class. Sorry...bit of a rant but after paying my entry i feel i have the right to have the same crack at it as everyone else!!

What Class was this, what bit were you using and under what rules was the show run ?
A flash should really only be used with a snaffle, with exception of some top working hunters for which the combination is generally accepted.
I would say a flash noseband should be accepted in most classes, and if its useful and pony goes well in it then ok, i would never be tempted to strap a mouth up on a pony with a flash unless its teeth are 100% upto date and it could be in discomfort not misbehaving, but its a bit poor that you are told you can and then you cant then someone else is using one in the very same class !

It was a novice flat class that incorporated both nps and puk qualifiers. The most irritating thing is that I feel I was penalised for trying to do things right and not break the rules. and worse again, my querie was met only by rudeness... no apology. Again Im can only imagine how difficult the job is but I do expect organisers/stewards to know the rules or be willing to find out what they are in order to enforce them if they are running qualifiers.

I would say you should have been fine with a flash with a snaffle bit for those classes.
