Tweed Advice, Rather Urgent!

Start of the show season and those excess winter pounds haven't been shifted yet. Alas my trusty tweed doesn't fit...

Ordered one the same but a size bigger and it's arrived today in the wrong tweed. Having googled it more, it would appear the tweed I wanted is discontinued but the place I bought it from is using the old picture yet sent the new tweed. That's what I'm presuming, I will call them in the morning to make sure they haven't got the one I want.

It's a caldene Silverdale in dark green with burgundy and cream over check as in the picture below.

Does anyone happen to have one in a 38" that they would sell?

Or has anyone seen a similar tweed anywhere? Looked on Mrs Candy, Pretty Ponies and Le Beau Cheval and not seen anything I like so far.

Mears do one fabric that I like (BS9) but has anyone got any suggestions for where else to look. I prefer a dark green base with burgundy in the overcheck. Preferably no red.

Yes this is the old tweed (on picture above) but if you google caldene silverdale you see the lighter tweed, which I'm presuming is the one you have received.

We had the maid one for my daughter which she really liked and luckily I managed to get it in the next size up for a bargain.

I've just had a look online was it Geegee where you ordered from? X

Thanks for your reply. It was naylors I ordered it from and yes, it's the lighter tweed I received. It's nice enough but just not what I want and won't look right on one of my horses.

I will call gee gee in the morning as they say special order in the description but in stock when I choose the size, thanks for suggesting them.

I have found a very similar looking cloth with showing selection so fingers crossed I will sort something tomorrow for next day delivery and make it to the ball!

Showing selection do a lovely dark green with a navy & burgundy over check.

Showing selection do one in same tweed, 9500. Difference I guess will be the price. I have that jacket and love it. Keep looking to renew but haven't seen any I like better. I got mine 2nd hand on ebay, worth s look. I bought the lighter green one too, not worn yet, tjink old colours were nicer!

Have managed to borrow a tweed for Sat so have time now to sort a new one out.

Gee gee are no longer trading and I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of other places if they have any left. Caldene have confirmed that it is discontinued.

If I can't find one (if anyone has one in 38" they would part with, cash waiting, please let me know) then I will get a showing selections one.

Some on ebay, but a 40". May be worth a try though, I have had about 8 Caldebe jackets and sizings vary hugely. Could always be raken in if too big ;-)
