Having just bought my first suede saddle, I was wondering what is the best type of cover as I normally use fleece but i would have though this would stick to the suede.

Whats the Fylde cover made of, out of interest? My daughter rides at least 2 ponies a day in her full suede Hayden, and I always have a fleece ride on cover on it, looks practically new :-)

My daughter always uses a fleece cover too. The fleece doesn't slide over the suede so doesn't flatten the nap.

My Fylde saddle cover came apart at the bottom (not excessive wear)so I use a fleece one now x

A waterproof one is useful for suede unless you avoid rain completely, I recommend the ones sold on ebay by Helens Hooves and Paws to all my customers - the dark blue/gray ones rather than the yellow ones which are different fabric.

My fylde is a soft fleecey material - similar to the numnah. Really lovely. Not come apart yet.

I have a waterproof one with a fleece lining in it that works perfectly and isn't slippery to ride on like some waterproof ones are. I got it specially made for my saddle from Kustom Kolours on Ebay. They are under £10 and all made to fit perfectly so do not slip or move around. Can't fault this lady, she even put a loop on the off side to tuck my girth through, so I don't have to put it over the saddle seat when not in use, which can also mark suede. Hope this helps.
