We have a lovely little pony that we do alot of PC and dressage with , the problem that we are having is finding the right bit for him . He has quite a sensitive mouth and he was in a thin fake wilkie but we found that this was not dressage legal so not sure what to go for next , he does sometimes avoid the contact and can pull on her arms , my daughter is 12 but very dainty . We also need a bit for when she jumps him , he does get quite fast , excited and she finds him had to stop as sometimes once hes over the jump he runs off into the open space and she finds it hard to turn him or even stop !! again not sure what to use as he is sensitive . we have the dentist coming next week to check his teeth too . Any advice would be great .

KY Rotary Double joint are amazing. My incredibly strong but sensituve warmblood mare will only go in them. She has a pelham to jump, hanging cheek for dressage & the fabulous Arc Mouth weymouth for Elem dressage & showing.

The trouble with gags is that if used all the time for schooling the pony does not learn to work correctly in an outline and on the bit, but rather to duck the head and go behind the bit to avoid the poll pressure, so the rider does not have the same level of communication that you would expect if correctly schooled and on the bit.
The long term solution would be reschooling in a proper snaffle, I always prefer a double jointed one. Getting teeth checked is always a good idea for any mouth related problem.
