Hi
Can anyone who has some Fylde bits or looked at them recently tell me please, are they marked up as Fylde anywhere on them, or have anything written on them, like the size or any other identifying marks?

Hi, I have two Fylde double bit sets that Peter had made for me, so I know they are genuinely from Fylde, I have looked all over them, but there are no identifying marks anywhere. I think I was once told that Abbey Saddlery Supplies in Cheshire, made bits for Peter, but I am not 100% certain of that. If correct however that wold certainly explain the quality and lovely finish on the bits I have, as Abbey are well known for excellent quality and workmanship. Hope this helps.

I also have had peter make me his Wilkie Pelham with a specific mouthpiece so I know its genuine but also cannot say I've seen a stamp.

Thank you all for looking. So none of you have found the size printed on them in centimetres? I have a bit here "believed" to be a Fylde but for some reason it doesn't quite look right, and slightly different to the pictures on the Fylde website - but it has the loops in the right place, so presumed to be a Wilkie and not a Beval - unless there are people making copies and following the loops being on top instead of both inside the ring?
This bit also I have found has the size printed on it in cm - upside down but it's printed clearly on the mouthpiece. Hhhhmmmmmm!

I may be wrong but seem to remember Peter telling me a few copies were made of his wilkie bits when he first marketed them. He then took out a patent but I expect there are still a few of the copies around and it maybe that you have one!

That to me looks like an original Fylde large ring wikie.
