Does anyone go to the show every year? Or last year? Just wondering (and I know it's a 'how long is a piece of string' question) but do they usually get good entries? It's just I want to enter a class there that's the last in a particular ring. The pre entries show only 1s, 2s & 3's in the classes that morning before my class. I'm at a show the day before so am only taking one to this show and obviously I've got to swap horses and leave the following morning (3.5 hour drive)
I know at most BSPS shows people tend to enter On the day and I've been before where pre entries show small classes, got there and there were masses in the classes!.
Can anyone help?

Due to numerous requests and enquiries and in support of our competitors, I have agreed a change to our show timetable.
classes 55 and 56 RIHS M&M LR and FR will be NOT BEFORE 2pm
This is to enable competitors who are competing at Solihull in the morning to also compete at our show if they wish to do so.
Classes 57 and 58 will run after class 54
THERE WILL BE NO HOLDING UP OF CLASSES ON THE DAY
I AM VERY SORRY IF THIS CAUSES ANY INCONVENIENCE TO ANYONE

What a long day then for the little jockeys - how do people keep little ones awake and focussed for such a long day? Why have Area 10 chosen to do this at the last minute? Schedules have been available for some time and as such competitors have the choice as to which show to attend. Why alter just the LR/FR? Do any of the older competitors want to compete at both shows? Why not alter some of their classes as well? We had made the decision to attend Area 10 as opposed to NPS but I refuse to have a 2am start to do the Heritage class (first class) and then still be hanging around till after 2pm -it's far too long for very young jockey who was so looking forward to her first RI qualifier. So we will all have a lie in and bbq instead. Also, my friend is still going but is competing in two rings and this change of time will have an impact on her so I hope there will be some leniency as the timetable has been altered at such a late stage.

The change was made due to numerous requests by both Area 10 members and regular competitors at our show. Historically NPS Area 11 ran their show at Solihull on the Saturday- but decided this year to change to our day. Looking at the schedule it would be reasonable to assume that the RIHS M&M LR/FR would be around lunchtime anyway - however because of very low pre entry numbers this will not necessarily be the case. If we have very high entries on the day timings could change drastically - so competitors could be waiting around for hours. At least if you are only competing at Area 10 you can rest assured that you won't be in before 2pm so can plan your day accordingly. I know that it is not always possible to please all of the people all of the time - but we try to do our best! I very much hope you enjoy your day - and the best of luck!

Thanks for your reply- as said previously we will not be attending Area 10 and will have a family day at home. I will not travel for just one class. When deciding where to go, it seemed a good idea to go to Area 10 and do the Heritage and the RI class. Now that the times have been altered it is just too long a day for a young jockey. Maybe I'm just old or old fashioned, but do not like to see children and ponies traipsing around the country for the chance of a ticket. Good luck to all those competing.

I personally feel that this was a very good move by area 10 due To the fact it will increase the numbers and allow people like myself to attend both shows when I have limited time as I work and don't have the opportunity to compete most weekends.

We too have limited time and funds to compete and make our decisions based on relevant information. If all the so called supporters of area 10 feel so strongly, why were they heading for nps area 11 in the first place and not supporting bsps area 10? In this age of technology, why wasn't this sorted before now? Could committee members have communicated before setting dates/schedules?
