I fear Northern Counties is slipping south It would be fantastic if there could be a 'big' show somewhere up North and more in the middle i.e. Wetherby Racecourse or Bishop Burton. I know you can't please all of the people all of the time but perhaps if people 'up North' were to put on here if they would support another 'big' show that you have to qualify for, it may give you an idea of interst?

owston - this has already been discussed at Council quite recently & for 2015 the new show secretary will be a very northern member, who has expressed her willingness to explore some options rather than on HG it would be easier if interested parties could email the office - this then comes up at meetings under correspondence - so all trustees would be aware of what/how much support was out there. email: gensec@thencpa.co.uk or contact through the website www.thencpa.co.uk

On another note:
The last schedules for POYS went in the post today (2nd class)
Only people who have joined/rejoined since Friday 6th June have not yet been mailed & these schedules will go with their membership mailing this week.
Remember the qualification cards allow you to enter ANY classes you are eligible for & the Golden Supremes are FREE to enter, as are the Chairman's Cup & the President's Cup

Just to let everyone know (we have limited website updates for the next few days)
The In Hand EXMOOR classes & the In Hand DARTMOOR classes will be COMBINED for judging at the Pony of the Year Show, as the separate Dartmoor section contravenes DPS rules & would prevent DPS members from entering (despite the show not being affiliated to any breed society)
There will still be separate awards for both breeds & trophies will be allocated as they have been in previous years.
The separate breed classes were introduced as a special commemoration for our 50th Golden anniversary & not intended to preclude our loyal Dartmoor followers. Thank you for letting us know in good time that if we did not run these classes in the usual manner, then DPS members would be unable to compete.

Spot the deliberate mistake!
Unfortunately there is an error in the schedule - CLASS 116 (NCPA Reg non M&M) should read "not exc 148cms" (NOT 143cms) & therefore Class 117 should read "exc 148cms" (NOT 143cms)
As the entry forms have the animals heights on them - any incorrectly entered animals will be moved accordingly.
Any animals exceeding 143 but not exceeding 148 will therefore be in Class 116 (NOT 117) & so will need to be ready for the SECOND CLASS in Ring 10 (not the 3rd class)
Sorry!

Anyone with a 2013 trophy to return could take it to BSPS Championships & give it to Sandra Moncaster - she will be in the commentary box that serves the grass rings.
Please email Sandra:

if you need more details, or you need to make other arrangements.

Please note: Online entries have been extended until MIDNIGHT on SUNDAY 24th August to accommodate those who are away at shows at the moment or who have just realised the deadline was tonight! Hi Janet Will a list of entry numbers per class be published? Thank you, looking forward to the show. P.S. Thanks for the info on the M6 closure, it helps a lot for planning the drive time. For those who haven't received the email yet it is as under: 'Please be aware that on SUNDAY 7th SEPTEMBER the M6 Motorway will be closed overnight from 10pm (Sat 6th) to 10am on Sunday morning between junctions 13 and 10a Those of you travelling from the north down the M6 should have few problems as junction 13 is where you leave the M6 to travel to the EQUINE CENTRE at Rodbaston, ST19 5PH, although the traffic may be heavier. Those travelling from the South or East should allow extra time to follow the diversions and allow for heavier traffic. The motorway will also close again at 10pm on Sunday evening but this should not affect our competitors.'

kateanne0 - I won't have time to post numbers until next week BUT there are not before times for the section blocks & I would advise any competitors to be there for these times, as entry numbers do not necessarily equate to animals forward

Could you please advise if the judges are likely to strip the coloureds? Struggling to find someone to groom for me with the class being early and I'm too creaky to get back on without a leg up!!
Sent from my GT-I9195 using proboards

sjw87 - I'm afraid that will be down to the judge on the day, but I am sure there will be some friendly NCPA member who will be able to assist you so don't panic.
Another thought - do you have some folding steps that could be brought in for you if this was necessary?

Please find attached the numbers in the classes as at the date the catalogue went to print. There will be some variations as the outstanding queries etc at this time were not added but this will give a rough idea BUT please do remember that the numbers entered DO NOT mean the same numbers will be forward & as already stated my advice would be to get there for the start of each timed section

Poppy130
All the In Hand classes changed this year as it is our Golden Anniversary show & all breeds/types have their own separate sections this time.
Although classes have been amalgamated in some cases, the highest placed yearling, 2 year old & 3 year old receive a sash in the youngstock classes, as do the highest stallion, mare & gelding in the adult classes and the trophies are allocated to their correct classification.
Unfortunately we will never please everyone, and as you say, you are not attending so it will not affect you, but please do email/write to the office with any suggestions you may have for the future.
NCPA prides itself in listening to, and addressing, the concerns of any members, but these must come to the Trustees in the correct manner, in order that they can be dealt with.
