I have a Shetland mare that has suddenly changed shape, belly dropped significantly and seems to have got that pointed foaly shape, am I just imagining it? I've only had her since beginning of jan, old owner never mentioned anything about the possibility of her being in foal.

Now I feel really dumb because I've just remembered she was showing in season when I first got her, I remember because she was showing to my German shepherd which we found funny. But haven't seen her in season since, there's no way she would show in season if she was in foal is there?

My geldings dam shows in season all through pregnancy. Get the vet to take a look then at least you will know.

Great! Lol. Vets here regularly so will get her up to yard for next visit and see what she thinks!

Quick google and it seems a lot of mares will "wink and squirt" even if they are in foal, especially when excited or meeting new horses.
