The mods are having to spend far too much time sorting out this section. The rules are not in place to make it more difficult for you to sell your items, but to try to make it fair for everyone.
Future breaches of the above rules (with the exception of the last one) will result in ONE warning will be given, then adverts will be deleted. Those who have already had a warning please pay heed to that, as you have already been told to stick to the rules. We have a list of those who have been warned, so please make all our lives easier by sticking to the rules. Thanks.
IF YOUR ADVERT HAS BEEN MOVED, THEN PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF IT HAS BEEN MOVED TO A MORE APPROPRIATE SECTION. (If you access your profile (link along bar under the banner) you can get links to your last 5 posts - that may be the quickest way to check if your thread has been moved. Clothes/footwear should be placed in the sub section of this section.
- do not bump adverts within 14 days of last post (this may have been a comment made by someone else, not necessarily the seller's last post). Bumping includes adding extra information - please edit your original post if you want to say something else. It is acceptable to directly answer a question, but bumping also includes saying "I've PMd/emailed you" - if you have done that, then whoever gets the PM or email will know that you have done so when they receive the communication. (For the avoidance of doubt, bumping is when you add a post to your thread which puts it back to the top of the page). If you are attaching several photos, then please do them immediately after putting your advert on so that you do not bump your advert a few hours later.
- put adverts for multiple items on ONE thread. If you have an older advert that you wish to bump (after 14 days) then add any new item for sale to that thread. Please do not bump more than one advert - you can edit your bumped advert to show other items available for sale.
- do not use the for sale section for chit chat. It is lovely to hear someone say "that saddle is beautiful.." etc but it bumps adverts which is unfair to others who have posted their adverts more recently. If you need to comment on an advert, then use the PM system.
- the for sale sections are for the benefit of members and not for people trying to "trade". Anyone who is a trader of any form, may post in the business links or equine services sections. Members who do not participate on the forum other than to advertise, should also use those sections.
- do not delete old adverts and then re-post them to try to look as if you haven't bumped them. The security log shows when posts have been deleted so you will be found out and adverts will be deleted WITHOUT any warning whatsoever.
- for the avoidance of doubt, it is not acceptable to put adverts for the same items in more than one section
- items of clothing should be placed in the SUB-SECTIONS of the tack/clothing sections - it is in members' interest to do this as it means your items will stay on the first page for longer.
