Hi all, normally do more ridden but decided to do a bit of inhand this season with new mare. All going perfect save she doesn't hold her head up iin walking and running out. Stands lovely with head when in line up. Looks like I am dragging her but I am not.
Someone mentioned to me to run out at home in side reins either with saddle or rolls. Is this what inhand people do to correct. Thanks in advance for any advice. X

I have never seen a mare ran in a roller and it is now rare to see a stallion ran with a roller on they is a few people who do this. When I first took my mare inhand she was very flat. I practiced at home lots with her and as soon as she has the halter on now she knows her job what to do. I would just say practice x

Hi roxy93, sorry meant the roller purposes for training at home to attach the side reins to. When you say practice could you please elaborate asking for her head up? thanks.

I used an inhand whip at home and it had a bag on the end this helped a lot, used her halter to practice as she knew what is was for then. My gran bred arabs for many of years and told me to try it as this is what they do there self, worked very well she certainly grew. She now knows her job and loves getting into the ring.
