How appropriate is it to have a non-wool navy jacket for evening performances etc. looking at a navy caldene jacket but don't want to waste my money if I'll look like the poor relation! Thanks  |

Wool always looks nice if you can get one. While a polyester jackets look fine when new, they can soon get 'pulls' in the cloth and they tend to look shiny after a while.
If you're expecting to do a lot of evening performances I'd plump for a wool one. Personally I'd rather have a good second hand wool than a new polyester (or whatever).

Perhaps have a lightweight wool one for summer and a heavy one for the winter x

Thanks guys, managed to get a wool one on ebay (phew!). Not expecting any evening performances really but am doing some pairs classes so need to be in navy and didn't want to let the side down!
