Hi Thinking of doing the LT H/T classes this year with our pony but a bit confused about the difference in type and class with the LR SHP will you get the same ponies in both ?

No, as the class says it is a lead rein hunter pony, therefore the pony must be a scaled down mini version of a hunter...also in these classes you are asked to go through obstacles, we got our lr hunter pony ready by going through over and in the most odd fences, gates, walking on the wrong side etc etc, and now as a fr shp he doesnt look/ spook at anything..

Hi ponymum i am also intereseted in this class could you tell me bit more about the individual show. I read in the bsps rules there was obstacles like you said, but do you have to walk, trot and change rein like the other lead rein classes.

its similar to the lrsp show, however somewhere in your show you may be asked to go over trotting poles, or through some jump wings. At the RIHS , they had to go over poles and then stop parellel to a jump and the jockey lean down and touch the jump pole...and sometimes you have to stop in your show and swop sides and then lead your pony from the wrong side in walk and trot! Get practising!!! Good luck

I thought the SHP dont do the obstacle course as HOYS has Lead Rein of Hunter Type and Lead Rein Show Hunter Pony if the ponies were the same why hold two different classes ?
