I don't show but is there a complaints procedure? After all you are paying to enter the class, you approached the judge and asked her what you did wrong or area for improvement but you did not get a justified answer.

Hmm don't quite know how to put this and it may not be the case at all but some judges don't like certain names, as in prefixes. I know that sounds daft but I have heard of it before. If your ponies name was on the entry form that could explain in. I would do some more digging and you may find your answer.

I too have heard this before, maybe tje Stud that bred him might have the answer. It's not right and a blooming shame if this is the case, maybe shows should only have the individual's number and no other competitor details. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

This happened to us years ago, and it turned out the judge had previously owned the pony. We had no way of knowing this as her name wasn't on the pony's registration papers, but instead of doing the right thing and asking us to leave the ring and explaining why, she placed us last with no explanation. We found out that she had a previous connection to the pony by chance several years later.

Perhaps there was a connection but she felt that you must have known about this and entered regardless of it and not wanting to show you up in front of everyone she dodged the issue?

Judges are not supposed to see any list of competitors before the class, there for i doubt that a prefix prejudice is the case. Some judges don't like to give comments, rightly or wrongly.

I think in some cases judges shouldn't give comments as in the case above the judge just made themselves look daft.
