Which makes of show saddles suit big barrelled Welsh As, to be ridden by an older child.

Hi I posted about this a few weeks ago - if you scroll down you will find it (I'm on my phone so can't copy the link).
Everyone seemed to be in agreement that a Thorn Saddle Pad (sold on eBay) would be the best. My section A is built like a cob!
I've just managed to buy one, found one second hand which is a rare find!

Tell me does it feel substantial or rather like riding bareback with stirrups?

We have also just gone down the thorn saddle pad route with our section a as he had changed shape so significantly his saddle couldn't be adjusted to fit and it is one of the best decisions I have made.
He is really happy in it and is much more free in his movement than he was in his treed saddle. My daughter says it is really comfortable to ride in and has been galloping across the fields and jumping in it without any problem

Fylde Hayden, with a gel pad to stop the 'roll' works for me. Get Peter to adjust it to fit properly.

We have neat GPs and WH as well as show saddles to suit the various shapes of As, so if you'd rather have a treed saddle than a pad we do have options
