My stables are now in need of a treatment. Can anyone recommend a sprayable wood preservative suitable for wooden stables please? I'd rather not have to use a paintbrush as it would take forever for two blocks 36 foot long and 12 foot wide I was looking at Cuprinol as a possibility. I'm aware some sprayable ones are only suitable for rough sawn timber like fence rails but my stables are fairly smooth. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks in advance!

i have used the Cuprinol spray equipment , and to be honest the time it took me to keep un blocking the b---y thing i could have painted them , done the shopping , and watched Corrie, and had time to spare , ended up painting it by hand anyway !!!!

Hate spraying! Butanox is mega and should last 5-10 years- pricey though. Cuprinol you will get about2 years.

Another vote for sump oil. I use creosote on the doors. I sprayed them last year with creosote but it didn't go on thickly enough and soon washed off. Mine are a total of 72'x 12' and don't take long.

I use proper creosote not creocote(which I think is water and aromatic oils)and brush it on,it would be even better mixed 50/50 with old engine oil but my memory doesn't remind me to get any!
