We find the Fylde ones look small on our 18hh HW hunter, we use a Farrington working hunter on him..

on a 17hh hunter why do you need a pretty little fylde saddle? there is more that enough horse to carry a wh saddle with a decent seat for the judge to ride on
I love my Pennwood WH saddle that I had made 13 years ago and so does everyone who's ever rode on it
Shame there saddle became naff when they sold the comapany and now dont exist at all

If you really wanted a fylde I would say the ray or the ray v plus but wouldn't recommend any other as wouldn't look like enough saddle for your horse, definitely agree with farrington they are great comfy saddles.

I was going to ask why a Fylde? There are plenty of more substantial showing and WH saddles that would looko great on a hunter and probably be a better saddle for riding in every day. Not many hunters come to me because of the old Native Pony name, but I have a big coloured hunter in our Traditional WH and it looks great and his back is looking really great. I would find a good hands on fitter to work with and go from there.

I was just looking at my options and not particularly set on a fylde. i was asking the question because i couldnt see a fylde suiting him but so many had reccomended one. I currently have a farrington 18" which i had checked for fit on friday when he had a fitting and it still fits him perfect so i have chose to keep it and just bought an event saddle for the workers instead that offer more security over large courses. thanks for your opionions though guys as you just confirmed what i already thought
