Llwynhywel Spring Box Well done everyone, only one in the novice small breeds.... think it was 7 or 8 in the novice b&c... and 11 or 12 in the novice larges, and i think it was about 10 in the new forests and connies. Was decent size classes in the novices apart from the smalls. Better than last year anyway

There was 2 in the smalls open/restricted (2 A's) and 3 in the N'f/Connies but the hairies/D's were huge as they were in the novice class.

The show ponies was amixed height class, about 12 in class some nice ponies, some were excited on the go around. True - one of the open ponies was really bad, took off at one point early on in the go round, then bronced all round the ring, & on the change of rein it lashed out so violently at another pony, it nearly caused the jockey of the innocent pony to fall off. IMO should have been last bar none (or chucked out) but was placed in the middle, above others that didn't even misbehave. The ring was very small with 11 'fresh' ponies on the go-round. If a mixed height class HAS to be held, maybe an idea would be to keep the little ones on the inside track on the go-round, especially in canter...
