Don't think it was Hollings' pony.
Think it was the same pony that was "fresh" at Myerscough last week....

After all the fuss about 14.2 show ponies competing in the SRT classes, I am surprised that people are okay with a SHP with a proven winning record is now competing as an ISRT?!
This is just my personal opinion.

Hi replying to Gossipgirl After owning Pretoria for 3 year nows, i couldn't stand the thought of selling her, and with her only being 8 years old to me that is a far too young age to be reitiring from the ring to simply sit in the field for the rest of her life which is silly when she obviously enjoys doing her job, i could understand your comment if i had attempted to contest both classes at the same time but as you can see i clearly havn't. As i am now to old to compete in the show hunter ponies i wanted to try some different things with her, ie srt and riding horse classes. I am not expecting to get any similar results as i achieved in the show hunter ponies i just want to carry on her showing career, and i dont think it has anything to do with anyone else what i do with my horse so long as she is still happy in her job. :

Replying to Gossip girl: Are you referring to Pretoria going as a ISRT/RH - if so, here here to Pretoria. My 'personal opinion' is that she will make a fantastic Riding Horse/ISRT - proving this by winning and taking the Championship at Aintree in her first outing of 2009. I wish Kim and Pretoria all the best for this year - you go girls!

I interpreted Gossipgirl's message to mean why 15hds SHP doesn't progress into INTERMEDIATE SH class instead of ISRT? perhaps because Pretoria is an Open for SH classes yet a novice for SRT? (this does not reflect my opinion, just trying to see what Gossipgirl meant) .... ... Pretoria is the most fantastic-moving little horse and thoroughly deserved to win and go Champion @ Aintree last Saturday

How sad people are and well done with Pretoria why shouldn't they try her in a different class now the rider is over age for the previous class all the best wish you every success your ponies are always a credit to you.

Pretoria has not and is not competing in any novice classes as she is NOT a novice, I dont understand what problem people have with what classes we are doing with our horse. What is the problem with horses tryin different classes alot of horses on the circuit do it so whats the big deal?

I actually think it commendable when the rider is out of the class to keep the pony and have a go at something different - how many successful ponies get sold on and passed from pillar to post when each successive rider is either too old or outgrown them. Pretoria has earned her keep ten times over, owes her owners absolutely nothing and good on them for keeping her rather than passing her on to goodness knows where. I wish you much enjoyment and success with your obviously much loved pony.

Fully agree, do not see any problem with horses/ponies trying different classes. We have a 15hh SHP that we have only just bought as we fell in love with him when we saw him but my daughter has only this year in that class. We hope to then go on to another class with him as there is no way we would part with him and he has plenty of scope hopefully to do Intermediate SH's. What is the problem with it it is for 148+ SH type's. We would not show him as a novice however as he is not and does not go like a novice even though he would be in a different class that he has never done before.

I wasn't saying that she shouldnt be doing the class as I love the horse. I was merely pointing out that when a 14.2 show pony enters a SRT class people seem to get in a large "discussion" about it. Your horse .... you decide what classes it does .... simple! Sorry if I have seemed to upset anyone it was never intended, maybe I should have made my comment clearer. It was never meant to single one horse out, sorry.

Kim - we sat with your mum at BSPS winter the first year you brought Tori out, we watched her go champion there and remarked it (she ) would go all the way, which you have - well done, but as MM said just because you are out of class, shouldnt mean you have to end a successful partnership . Good on you, I will be watching from afar , rooting for you both xxx

Knowing the owners of Pretoria i think they are doing an excellent job with their horses ( as shown by the results ) and i think its brill to see Pretoria contesting other classes. I wish them all the best for 2009.

I wish Kim and Pretoria all the very best for 2009, that pony is treated like the princess she is. What better than Tori to stay were she is happy than sold on. If i ever come back into this world as a pony, I would want to be on the Minchins yard .

Im pleased to see Pretoria doing well in the ISRT classes I personally think she will be a great example for this class coz in my opinion that is what she is. I am so pleased Kim decided to keep her and I wish her the same success she had as in the shp classes as the horse is lovely.

I have thought about this comment made by Gossipgirl; who I dont think for one min meant anything untoward in her comment towards the horse and rider but.......it has to be said, we pay a lot for entries, take ages in making sure we chose the correct type of animal for classes to compete in, we are supposed to be in the best showing society in the country which defines type, breed etc etc But still we are faced with some people who judge of not really knowing what they have in front of them!! Go on ...I am ready for the flack LOL!
