Just wanted your views whether you would use? and general thoughts about?
Last winter having been sick and tired of our pony losing her mane through hoods, I decided to make a hood that would allow air to breath through the mane area. In a nutshell amazing results and unlike previous years we lost hardly any, if any at all.
Just put on again this year and presently busy making some for friends as been asked for a few as they couldnt believe the results.
In a nutshell do you think you would use?
I also made fleecy bellies and turnout out bellies that attach to your own fleeces, jammies etc. Again your thoughts, would you use and buy?
Must state i am not advertising here, just trying to get peoples general thoughts.
thanks in advance.

Sounds like you've got yourself a little business there, you could become the next snuggy hoods!!

Fab idea my coloured native and trads all suffer badly from mane loss through being rubbed by rugs etc in winter!

Is it something like this? I have seen these for sale for about 6 months on various facebook pages, I was tempted but wasn't sure of there durability, or how easy they would be to tear/get caught on things due to the slit already cut in it If yours is different I wkjld definitely be interested

hi everyone thanks for the feedback, and no dottydog there are no slits, i agree our pony would have that torn to bits, just a different breathable material as well as the fleece to allow air in. x
Any thoughts on the fleece/turnout bellies?
thanks again everyone and chalky284 that is what my friends have said, but goodness knows where to start or what to call them, any ideas anyone? x

I would certainly buy if the workmanship was good enough
I think probably the best way to start is by making a Facebook page, I think you'd have to look in to making sure you don't fall foul of anything regarding it being a company/tax etc.. lots of these 'companies' seem to be hobbies but I am sure there is a fine line there

There are a few places that are focused on helping small businesses get off the ground, from grants to just advice on tax and liability etc. I would definately recommend using the services of one or more of these companies. They will even help you form a business plan so you know yourself what you should be doing and when. Customers want good customer service and quality, have a play around with some names and designs for your company logo, these can be then used on your products. Sourcing material at a good price and a good courier will be key to your success. Definately start small and be realistic with how many orders you take and how long it will take you to full fill them. If you start a little website, loads of people shop online these days so an easy to navigate page will give you a good start. Facebook is a great idea but not everyone is on it, many people are just Facebook lurkers who may not want to join a page just to view some products.
Really good luck with this, if you have any before and after shots of ponies who have used your hoods that is a real draw for buyers, they want evidence!! Use reviews from people, and advertise, advertise as best and as cheaply as you can!!
