When our pony trots she moves her neck from left to right. Is there a reason for this?

Possibly an unsteady contact, have seen this so many times coming down the centre line of a dressage test, which really shows this issue up. By the way am in no way knocking the jockey, just purely trying to shed some light on things for you, although there could be any number of reasons, this is just one I am familiar with from my dressage background.

I'd agree with coming down the centre line -you really notice it. I thought it was riders sawing a little on the mouth. Of your daughter is really quiet in the hand perhaps it's an established habit. I also think when they're not properly coming through from behind this can happen. Will bd interested to learn more about causes of this.
