I am looking for a full neck turnout rug for our new pony (sec A), he needs 5'. I tried an Amigo on him this morning, and whilst it fits him chest to tail, it is way, way too deep for him - comes right past his knees at the front.
Can anyone suggest a brand that might fit? We use Ruggles for the Shetlands, but their small pony ones just go to 4' 9".
Thank you!

Shires Tempest fit my section A very well, they don't have shoulder darts but still fit well. They aren't too deep if anything they are about an inch shallower that I'd like (he still has his summer belly though so in a month or so they'll be better) but at that price you can't have it all! He has three weights of the Tempest (they make a seriously useful 100g rug) and a heavy Shires Typhoon which fits equally well and is a bit deeper
The Tempest stable rug for some reason is much too deep for my pony but their Ponywarma rugs fit well
Loveson rugs also fit him well but Shires definitely have the edge on quality for the price
Amigo, Rambo, Rhino, weatherbeeta all don't fit him

Ruggles in a 5ft as they are not to deep in the chest even if they are not from the small pony range .

I supply IV horse rugs should you like to try those? they are the only rugs I will use on my ponies as they also fit them nicely on the shoulders and the linning prevent the chaffing on the coats and mane loss.

No. They are bang on size wise. My sec A is in a 4'6" & my 122 SP is in 4'9". They both have the complete wardrobe from stay dry fly sheets to heavyweight combos and every permutation in the middle!!!!!

Thanks, everyone for your help. I had decided I would push the boat out on a Premier Equine one, but they didn't have Smokey's size left, so I've gone for the Ruggles standard range - I know I like their rugs in general, and they emailed my a 10% discount code yesterday, which was what clinched it! Will let you know if it fits when it arrives. Thanks again.

Dreadful! I have placed two Premier Equine orders in the last 24hrs. I have no willpower lol I was under the impression they were generous because of reviews on the horse sizes so ordered 4'3 for a pony that takes anywhere between 4'0 and 4'6 depending on the brand I've ordered loads I hope they fit!!

I found I had to go down a size for my Dartie with Premier Equine rugs but I love them. All his rugs are Premier Equine and worth every penny.
