I'm a very large lady looking to show my ponies in hand this year, they will be turned out as either M&M or SHP. please be gentle with comments, I am lacking confidence but my enthusiasm is good!
Being large my clothes choices are somewhat restricted, even Fuller Fillies clothes aren't big enough. I am looking in to getting a decent tweed waistcoat made but in the meantime would I get away with the following at VERY small local shows?
waistcoat - brown thin quilted, fitted and neat not squared off and thick like a husky
Skirt - brown/fawn tweed or cord (long)- trousers aren't really an option for me
Boots - brown jod boots - smart ones not yard boots
Blouse - plain white three quarter length sleeves (I cant find a shirt big enough)
Scarf - silk, tucked in to waistcoat
Hat - flat cap or brown riding hat
brown leather gloves and cane
This almost sounds like a lead rein outfit so not ideal. I want to look as correct as possible and needless to say everything will be immaculately clean
I've seen all sorts of turnout at local shows (some hair-raising!) so feel I will not be the worst dressed there but I guess that's not the point

Go for it, any of those combinations sounds smart. As you say some of the turnouts at shows are shocking. Back in the old days ( 60's/70's ) ladies often wore skirts when showing in hand. Just go and enjoy yourself

I think that sounds lovely & very suitable, and I noticed a couple of ladies in skirts when I had my Dartmoor out in hand in 2013, good luck & enjoy
