Mine is in a Charles Owen Fiona. Personally find them the best as they are not over large so doesn't look too much like a pee pot.

William has a Just Togs hat, not sure of the model but navy velvet with flesh coloured harness, and looks neat on his wee head.

Have had the Just Togs & now a Charles Owen Showjumper XP. The Fiona is a lovely looking hat but won't be up to standard for competitions from 2016 & can't be tagged for Pony Club etc as it isn't PAS 015, so that's why we avoided it x

As maddiesmum above, BSPS have stated that the Charles Owen Fiona will not be legal for showing with their Society from January 2016 (Announcement on the "latest news" button)

Yes I'm aware of the new hat rules but I've another season to go before then!! Thinking about it though how ridiculous is it to say that it is ok at the moment but won't be safe in 12 months time!!!!! Bizarre. So I'll be looking for a lovely neat show hat for my little jockey come 2016. Maybe CO will redesign one

I had a gatehouse Hickstead when i was younger but not the new style now i found that a bigger hat, if you can get your hands on an old style on they are great.

Philippa - not a criticism, just wanted to make sure anyone buying now realised the implications if they chose the Fiona, as it was the first time I had seen the exclusion of the Fiona confirmed by a society. We have Fiona's currently, so are in the same boat from 2016

Have to say I don't think Fiona's are the best shaped hats for children, I had a discussion about this with a well known hat maker last weekend as I feel the Fiona looks huge on my 5 year olds head. I was told the Fiona's are designed for adults, who have oval shaped heads, but children have round heads, the fionas are made in one size with extra padding to make it fit the variety of sizes. My son's hat who is a 6 1/4 had a good inch worth of padding around the sides of the hat and it makes his head look huge...with a tiny face! However...they are the only company I could find who did hats in Brown....

I have the CO SJ2000 for myself and thats like a pee pot on me lol!!! I like a deep crown but have a tiny head so they often drown me.

My daughter is a first ridden jockey and we have huge problems with her show hats! at the moment she has a CO h2000 in a 6 3/4 but her head has clearly grown and she says that it hurts at the sides. However whilst at RI last year we went to the CO stand and they couldn't find a hat to fit her round head, the 6 7/8 was too big at the back. At the moment she just has to put it on before the class and take it off straight after so that it doesn't cause her too much discomfort!! Has anyone else found the same problem?

People are either oval or round headed so if CO don't fit then Champion should!
