Over the past few months I have tamed some feral cats and had them neutered with the help of the CPL. They have now become so friendly that they ask to come in the lounge window each day for some TLC, play time and cuddles.
I put them out at 5pm when I went to do the ponies and to feed the cats. By the time I came down from the yard again one of them one dead in the lane, having clearly been hit very hard by a vehicle.
This now leaves the other feral cat without her sister. I am so upset, especially as whoever did it did not even stop to tell us. As I came down from the yard I shouted to the cats and a lady who was walking past asked if I had a cat and pointed to poor Sooty just across from the gateway.

My god Heather! whoever it was could have at least stopped as your road isn't exactly a busy one and I bet they were local, which makes it even more terrible. It is so sad that this has happened and to think you were only trying to be kind in the first place by giving them a bit of a home.
xxxxx RIP xxxxxxxx

I can't understand people who take a life without seeming to care. I'm now terrified about the others, the feral and my lorry cat. The other feral is spending as much time indoors as she can get away with!! I only wish she would get used to the dogs so she could then come and go at will through the flap, rather than in and out the lounge window. Trouble (the lorry cat) seems to know something is up and is spending a lot of time playing with the other one.
