I am debating on whether to clip my fluffy show pony. She has just come in from living out all winter and is really fluffy (as expected!). She is groomed everyday but doesn't seem to be shedding any of her coat yet. I am planning on taking her to her first show at the end of may if she's ready (in hand) but don't know whether to clip her now? I don't want her to look like she's freshly clipped at the show, its 6 weeks away! Opinions?

I wouldn't clip now it's too late. Bath and groom! I bathed my hairy two year old Fell on Saturday, he looked a different pony yesterday. You'll be surprised the amount of hair that comes out with a good scrub x

I would never normally clip this late, i am just being impatient hehe! I noticed today though she has loads of fur on the inside of her fleece and hood and when i groomed her it was coming out loads so looks like she's finally malting and i wont have to clip! Shes definitely due a good bath soon, will have to take some warm water down she's a wimp!x

Hot as your hand can stand it bucket of water with a glug of oil or Dettol in it and a face flannel. Dip, squeeze out completely and rub against and with hair, rinse and repeat.
