Hi
My daughter had always wanted to do concours and I have now bought her a beautiful outfit which has a weighted skirt.
But it is still slipping to one side. Any ideas how to stop it slipping please
Many thanks

I presume you mean that the skirt is slipping to one side? Does your daughter ride aside or astride? - A few more details and I may be able to help?!!

Thankyou
Yeah the skirt slips to one side, and she rides astride. There at very thin elastic a to tie round her legs but they don't seem to do anything x

What type of fabric is the skirt?
Is there an underskirt?
Do not use show sheen etc on the pony's hind quarters
What does the manufacturer of the outfit suggest?

No underskirt and it's a satin material

As long as pony doesn't mind you could use double sided tape/ boob tape to keep it in place . Make sure you position it so jockey can still rise and practice at home to make sure pony doesn't mind skirt taped to its bum . I bought some for last time my daughter did concours but didn't have time to put it on so can't say how effective it will be . Worth a try though

You could try fitting a synthetic crupper to the pony (or maybe a tail guard?) and using velcro dots or the double sided tape mentioned above attached to it perhaps - just small amounts so it comes loose immediately if the child falls off

I've made a net underskirt and added some curtain weights to the skirt, my daughter is going to ride in it Wednesday night, fingers crossed :-)

I use the weighted curtain tape all round the hem of the skirt. You can buy it at any curtain fabric shop and buy it by the metre. Buy the heaviest weight available. We never had a problem with skirts moving because the weights cover the whole outer edge of the skirt.
Its very east to sew onto the skirt. Good luck.
