I use a normal Pelham for showing but I don't see many people wear these. I don't think he will like a double bridle so I'm not sure what to use. He goes quite over bent and heavy in his current Pelham but he is fine in his snaffle. Does anyone have any suggestions Thankyou

if he is heavy and overbent in a pelham you may find he goes much better in a double, can you borrow one to try before you go to the expense of buying, our fell pony hated pelhams and loves his double

Agree with the above, you can just ride off the snaffle in a double.

Some have too short a mouth to take two bits though. I showed my D in a rugby pelham which both looks more like a double (with of course the slip head in place) and works more like one in terms of giving no curb action if you ride only off the snaffle rein which is what I did. I also used a very loose leather curb chain as she hated pressure under her chin.
